Those new, super thin, flat panel TVs can be a blessing for RV enthusiasts. They take little space in the motorhome or trailer, but they can produce their own set of issues. If you've got cables to route into the back of them through a wall passage, they can be a real pain to hold in place while you try and stick your hand behind them to route wires. Once in place, "on the wall," you're stuck sitting pretty much at one angle in front of the TV--some models being worse than others. What if you want to shift your point of view, by say, reclining w-a-y back in that comfy recliner--and suddenly your view is wiped out?
Enter Peerless Industries Ultra-Thin Tilt Mounts for ultra-thin screen TVs. Three different models, each with their own advantages, make mounting your thin TV in your RV a much nicer proposition. With just a smidgen over a half inch of space between the back of the TV and the wall in the closed position, you won't find a lot of space taken up. But pulled out, there's over five inches of space--plenty of room to get even large scale hands behind the set to pull and poke wires. And an extended position, you can tilt the screen down a full 17.5 degrees, allowing a variety of viewing angles. And a horizontal adjustment range of 8" will help get a better view. This may be one of those, "if you can afford the TV, surely you can afford the mount," situations, as these new skinny mounts require a slightly wider wallet than some: Starting out at a suggested retail of $229, they top out at $299. But if your rolling home is your castle, this may just be what the RV TV King ordered.
Peerless’ Ultra-Slim Tilt Mounts are available for 22- to 40-inch (SUT632P), 32- to 46-inch (SUT645P), and 37- to 60-inch (SUT660P) ultra-thin flat panels, offering compatibility with ultra-thin screens with up to a VESA 800 x 400 mounting hole pattern. With a shower directly behind where our thin TV sets, we cannot attach a mount on the wall. What we need is a similar, swing-out mount that could attach to the cabinet above the TV. Know where I can get one?
